What we do

For every tool category we cover (drills, impact drivers, saws, and more) we gather what the most trusted sources are saying: independent lab tests, expert reviewers, hands-on video reviews, and verified buyer reviews at Home Depot, Lowe’s and other major retailers. Then we sum up where they agree, where they disagree, and which complaints keep coming up, so you can pick the right tool for your projects and budget.

How we work

• We’re reviewers of reviews. We don’t run our own lab, and we won’t pretend we do. When a claim comes from a test, we say whose test it was and link to it.
• Consensus over hype. A tool only earns a top spot when several independent sources agree it’s good.
• We call out the downsides. Every pick includes a “What to watch for” section with the most common complaints.
• AI-assisted, human-approved. We use AI tools to help gather and summarize reviews. Every article is reviewed and approved by a person before it’s published.
• We keep it current. Tools and prices change. We update our guides as new models and new tests come out.
