Looking for the best cordless jigsaw in 2026? We read the hands-on tests from Pro Tool Reviews, Bob Vila and Reviewed, checked every store listing, and boiled it down so you don’t have to. One saw, the DeWalt DCS334B, has three independent experts behind it. The rest have one or two, and we say so plainly.

How we built this list

We don’t just repeat one site’s ranking. For each jigsaw we looked for independent, hands-on reviews of that exact model, then checked that stores still sell it. Pro Tool Reviews’ head-to-head testing and Bob Vila’s plywood cutting tests are the main sources, plus Reviewed’s test of the DeWalt. Some of these reviews are a few years old (the DeWalt review dates from 2019 and the Ryobi review from 2021), but every saw here is still on store shelves. Jigsaws are an under-tested category, so most picks have fewer than three reviews; we show that honestly instead of inflating a score.

Expert Scorecard

What independent reviewers concluded about each exact model. A Consensus Score (0–100) appears only once at least three experts have reviewed a tool. How the Consensus Score works.

1. DeWalt 20V Max XR DCS334B — Best cordless jigsaw overall

Why reviewers love it: This is the only jigsaw here with three experts in agreement. Pro Tool Reviews gave it 9.7/10 and said it impressed with its control, low vibration and ergonomics; in its later group test it picked the DeWalt as best overall, noting it cuts a little slower than the fastest saws but keeps vibration down and blade deflection at nothing on tough cuts. Reviewed’s Rebecca Boniface named it Best Overall, saying its blade clamp was the safest of the saws tested and that it beat the others on plunge cuts. Bob Vila’s testers gave it the Best Ergonomic Handle award for its narrow, comfortable grip, strong dust blower and easy blade clamp.

  • Stroke rate: 3,200 strokes per minute (Pro Tool Reviews)
  • Weight: about 4.6 lb bare (Pro Tool Reviews specs)
  • Features: brushless motor, tool-free bevel with stops at 0°, 15°, 30° and 45°, 3 orbital settings, dust blower, LED
  • Typical price: Pro Tool Reviews listed about $199 bare in 2023; sold as a tool-only saw, so you need a battery

What to watch for: It has no dust port and no lock-on button, and its bevel markings are hard to read (Bob Vila). Reviewed missed a wire cutting guide. Prefer a barrel grip? DeWalt makes the DCS335B, which is a different model we haven’t scored.

2. Milwaukee M18 Fuel 2737-20 — Fastest cutting

Why reviewers love it: In Pro Tool Reviews’ group test the Milwaukee showed the greatest cutting speed of the saws tried. Its 3,500 strokes per minute and brushless motor cut quickly even with orbital action off, and it has a dust port, a switch to turn the blower off, tool-free bevel and blade release, and a lever that ejects the blade.

  • Stroke rate: 3,500 SPM
  • Grip: top handle (the barrel-grip version is the separate 2737B)
  • Typical price: Pro Tool Reviews listed $199 bare and $299 with a 5.0Ah battery in 2023

What to watch for: Pro Tool Reviews says you need orbital action for the fastest cuts, which leaves a rougher edge, and the saw has no lock-on button and no variable speed dial. Bob Vila praised the barrel-grip 2737B-20 for fast cuts with little chip-out, but that is a different model, so we don’t count it here. Only one counted expert so far.

3. Ryobi ONE+ HP PBLJS01B — Best for Ryobi owners

Why reviewers love it: Pro Tool Reviews’ Clint DeBoer found plenty of power and cutting speed, an easy blade-release lever, a lock-on button and a tool-free bevel change. With orbital action off and a fine blade it left a clean finish on 3/4-inch plywood. Bob Vila named it Best Bang for the Buck, calling it comfortable and the fastest in its price range.

  • Stroke rate: up to 3,400 SPM (Pro Tool Reviews)
  • Battery: works with Ryobi ONE+ 18V; battery and charger sold separately for the tool-only PBLJS01B
  • Typical price: Pro Tool Reviews listed $139 bare in its 2023 roundup

What to watch for: Bob Vila saw chip-out at the maximum orbital setting and sawdust blocking the cutline. Pro Tool Reviews noted no dust collection, a speed dial on top rather than on the trigger, and bevel stops only at 45°. When you flip the blade clamp fully open, the blade can jump out, so hold it first. Two experts so far.

4. Skil PWRCore 20 JS820202 — Best value kit

Why reviewers love it: There aren’t many jigsaw kits, which makes getting started costly if you don’t own a battery. Pro Tool Reviews picked this Skil as Best Value at $149 (in 2023) because it includes a 2.0Ah battery and fast charger, plus a brushless motor, tool-free bevel adjustment, a push-up blade release, low vibration, good control and a switch for the dust blower. It lists no significant drawbacks, though you need to cut a little slower for the best quality.

What to watch for: It’s a one-source pick for now. Lowe’s showed the kit as out of stock with a notify-me button when we checked, which is temporary but worth knowing. Amazon showed it in stock.

Cordless jigsaw buying guide

Top handle or barrel grip?

Pro Tool Reviews says it mostly comes down to preference. Top handles are easier to control one-handed when you can’t clamp the work, while some people feel steadier with a barrel grip, which sits your hand lower. Every saw on this list is a top-handle model.

What orbital action does

Orbital action makes the blade attack the wood in an elliptical motion, which cuts faster but leaves a rougher edge (Pro Tool Reviews). Turn it down for clean plywood and hardwood, and up for quick rough cuts in thick lumber.

Features that make a difference

Look for a cutline blower, tool-free bevel adjustment, a housing-mounted blade release lever and low vibration. Lock-on buttons and dust ports are nice extras that several of the best saws skip. Pro Tool Reviews also suggests starting with the jigsaw on the battery platform you already own, because the bare tool costs far less than a kit.

Don’t forget the blade

A good blade matters as much as the saw. Pro Tool Reviews says it consistently turns to Bosch and recommends the 10-piece T5002 wood and metal set as a solid general-purpose pack.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best cordless jigsaw?

Based on the expert reviews we found, the DeWalt DCS334B, with a Consensus Score of 93 from three experts. It balances control, low vibration and comfort. If raw cutting speed matters most, look at the Milwaukee 2737-20.

Are cordless jigsaws as powerful as corded ones?

Pro Tool Reviews says cordless jigsaws are just as strong as corded models. Bob Vila’s test group included both types, and its top overall pick, a Bosch barrel-grip, was corded, so a cord can still be the better choice if you do long cutting sessions.

Do I need a kit or a bare tool?

If you already own batteries for that brand, buy the bare tool and save money. If you’re starting from scratch, a kit such as the Skil JS820202 is the cheapest way in.

The bottom line

Get the DeWalt DCS334B if you want the safest bet: it’s the only cordless jigsaw here with three experts agreeing. Pick the Milwaukee 2737-20 for speed, the Ryobi PBLJS01B if you already own Ryobi ONE+ batteries, or the Skil PWRCore 20 if you need a battery and charger included.
